The glass we chose

There is a version of this page that talks about the ocean.

That is not the reason. We use glass because we do not want plastic in the body — ours, or yours. The environment is a beneficiary of that choice, not the argument for it.

What the claim actually covers

The packaging is plastic-free. Not the supply chain, not the whole lifecycle, not yet — and saying otherwise would be the kind of unqualified sweep that means nothing. Lids are glass, hemp or bamboo, sealed with cork, natural rubber or ground glass, because the liner is where hidden plastic lives.

Inks and coatings are lead-free and third-party tested. Not "lead-free glass" — commercial glass is already lead-free, and claiming it as a feature would be a swipe at a problem nobody has. The real risk is in the exterior enamel, so that is what we test.

The part we have not solved

Raw botanicals still arrive from our supplier in bulk poly bags.

We could stay quiet about that. Instead: when we control the chain end to end, that will be worth saying out loud. Until then it is worth writing down.
